I bought this cordless phone after my first was dead out of the box ... and I wanted an answering machine with my cordless phone. It was inexpensive, but I have learned once again that you get what you pay for.
First, the instructions are kinda complicated. The manual doesn't come in a booklet form but in a large poster that you need to unfold completely to read. Can't tell you how frustrating it is in an office of limited space.
Second, the headset volume is extremely low--even on it's highest volume setting. You have to press it against your ear to hear the other person. However, when you talk you can hear yourself through the phone quite clearly.
Third, contrary to the above, the ringer is ear-splittingly loud--even on it's lowest setting. You can turn of the ringer ... but that is pretty pointless when you need to hear it to answer it.
So, I am looking elsewhere. If you don't mind dealing with the three aforementioned difficulties then by all means buy the phone ... it works and would be a great starter phone if you can't afford the more expensive ones.
