Cons: 1) old battery technology (two cell NiCad); 2) somewhat weak ringer volume; 3) no headset jack; 4) no belt clip(s)
Overall assessment: Ringer volume is adequate if you're in the same room. Voice quality is decent on both ends. Range is adequate for most homes. It reaches the length of our single story 2,500 sq ft L ranch with no signal loss and roughly 50 to 60 yards from the base outside the house within line of sight depending on other obstacles. That's not comparable to our much older Uniden PowerMax 2.4 DSS system which will reach all the way to the mailbox at the road, about 80 yards and slightly below sight line. Before you reach the maximum range, while moving, the signal begins to break up. If you stop moving, the signal will stabilize unless you are beyond the maximum range. I haven't yet tested the answerer but at ten bucks per handset (good through 9/14 with coupon @ BJ's) I would not hesitate to recommend this system.
