Unlike some AT&T Models like the AT&T 5630, you have to manually enter each telephone number in each handset. Easy to do, but time consuming. The e6053 comes with 3 handsets. Contrary to what one retailer advertised (expands up to 5 handsets), the phone cannot be expanded with additional handsets. After checking with Vtech's technical support, I discovered that the e6053 cannot be expanded with additional handsets. Also, they have NO replacement handsets available if one gets damaged or broken (they were sorry for the inconvenience). The unit comes in a boxed set that includes 3 handsets. For someone needing expansion capabilities beyond 3 handsets, this is not the phone to buy. Nor is it the phone for someone in a rough environment - no replacement handsets. For such a great-looking and modernistic phone, I was disappointed with this offering.
