I'll briefly summarize this phone's qualities, and a wish for a few left out features.
Pros:
Good sound quality, very good range (I was able to walk down the street about 4-5 houses, at least a half-block).
Nice design of base and handset. It's modern and functional, with well sized, different shaped buttons for each group of functions. I really dislike most of the phones out there, with their toy-like quality, construction and gimmicky styling (Panasonic has their share). Many have clunky bases that are not wall-mountable, or if they are, they stick out horizontally.
Antenna tip flashes to notify you of voice mail or ringing, or when you hit the locate handset button on the base.
Very good speakerphone on both handsets and base.
Battery life is as advertised from the NMiH batteries - very long.
Even though this is a 2.4Ghz phone, I have no troubles from my wireless network. I set the channel on my router to 11. The microwave does a number on the network, but the phone picks up no interference from the microwave oven.
Cons:
No caller ID display on base. Most phones don't have this. I'd like to see a nice caller ID display on the base with the date and time showing, as well as the status of the phone.
Only a three line LCD on the handset. You see the name and number when a call comes in, but when you are scrolling the list, the name and number alternate on the same line, while the softkey functions are displayed on the third line.
An older Qwest CIDCO phone I had used handsets that pulled the Caller ID data from the base, so the handsets were always syncronized. You have to copy the phonebook to the other handset via the menu to keep them syncronized (if you wish).
Answering machine functions are very basic. You can not speed up the voice like on my standalone Pana digital answering machine. Great for those slow talkers. No periodic beep (message minder) to remind you to check the machine when you get home. Can not record conversations. Needs more memory for longer recording time. Can't check remaining recording time.
Will not auto switch from base to handset or vice versa when switching from speakerphone, must press TALK on one, then OFF on the other. Time it right or you will hang up on the caller. My older Pana cordless would automatically cut off whichever unit you were switching from.
Weak selection of 'ringtones.' Three 'ringers' and four classical tunes. I use the traditional Panasonic ring sound. A friend has a several year old Vtech with a dozen more sounds (the the phone is awful).
Even with my 'complaints' I am completely satisfied with this unit.

The KX-TG2357 is a 2.4 GHz phone system that comes with a number of useful extras, including a second handset and integrated answering machine. By utilizing the 2.4 GHz frequency and digital frequency-hoping spread spectrum technology, the phone is able to offer clearer reception at greater distances than traditional analog and even many digital phones. Plus, Panasonic's Voice Enhancer technology helps to reproduce a wider frequency range than many other phones do, resulting in more intelligible speech. Caller ID has a 50-number internal memory and audibly announces the name or number of the incoming caller. A 30-number internal phone directory allows you to store your most frequently used phone numbers, while a display-and-dial feature lets you scroll through either the directory or caller ID lists and call with the touch of a button. Additional features include an all-digital answering machine with a new-call indicator, so you know when you have new messages waiting. An intercom/paging function allows you to communicate with other phones on the system, while speakerphones on both the base and handsets allows you to communicate hands-free. Illuminated handset keypads make dialing easy, even in the dark. Headset compatible, the KX-TG2357 also comes with a belt clip and is wall-mountable, keeping your countertop clear from extra clutter. What's in the Box Base unit, two handsets, two battery packs, one charger base, two AC adapters, two belt clips, one telephone line cord, instructions, headset
