Purchased this phone a year ago and would definitely recommend it. I have not had any of the static and other issues with all previous cordless phones I've had while living in this flat. Well worth the money. Solved my problem of not having a phone jack in the room I needed the cordless phone, since the cordless does not need to plug into a wall jack. Battery life is decent and does not take long to fully re-charge. I never have to change the channel, get static or hear other people's phone calls. Hopefully, they don't hear mine. Has the headset capability which will come in handy now that I will be telecommuting. The only bad thing is you have to program numbers into both phones. I would rather program into one and the directory apply to both phones.

The SPP-S2430 from Sony is a 2.4 GHz cordless phone with a number of useful features, including both corded and cordless handsets. It transmits on the 2.4 GHz frequency and employs direct-sequence spread spectrum technology for clearer reception and greater range than traditional analog phones.
Caller ID/call waiting compatible, the SPP-S2430 holds up to 100 numbers in its internal caller ID memory and features and jog dial that provides a quick and easy way to access the phone's many features. Three speed dial presets allow you to easily call the most frequently used outgoing numbers, while a 100-number phone directory provides a convenient way to store important phone numbers. A built-in speakerphone and headset compatibility (a belt clip is provided) provide hands-free communication methods.
A transfer feature allows you to transfer phone directory entries between the base phone and the cordless handset. An intercom function allows you to communicate between the base and the handset, while the call transfer feature lets you switch your party from the base phone to the cordless handset and vise versa.
Handset and ringer controls let you adjust volume levels to your liking, while the flash button gives you access to call waiting (requires a subscription to a fee-based service). The NiCAD batteries have a talk time of about six hours with a six-day standby life. A redial button let you quickly call one of the last five outgoing numbers, while the hold button places the current conversation on hold, allowing you to answer an incoming call on the other line (also requires a subscription to a fee-based service).
The SPP-S2430 has a 7-by-8.5-inch footprint and is wall-mountable, freeing up countertop space completely. It is also hearing aid compatible and comes with a one-year limited warranty.
