(More customer reviews)I purchased this cordless telephone set to replace a GE model purchased years ago. The base unit, handset and answering machine from the old telephone are fine, but the extra handset went completely dead (even with a new battery). My husband thinks it may have been hit by lightening/ a power surge. Unfortunately, I really don't like the new set as well as the old. The handset is a little smaller and shaped so that I cannot hold it on my shoulder as I used to the other one. We have had some problem with the volume (of the caller) as well. Having an additional handset is nice, but I would gladly trade for a working set like our old one! I guess the saying, "They don't make them like they used to" would apply. :{
