The battery that came with my phone wouldn't hold a charge anymore. I even drained it flat and fully recharged it a couple of times in case it had developed a memory. Still wouldn't hold a charge, so I found this Energizer from Batteries. At 3.6v 700mAh (2.5Wh) Ni-MH, this one has 27% more endurance that the original battery did at full strength (550mAh), so it should last me a long time (that's what Energizer does, doesn't it).
I've had this issue with another phone years ago: the manufacturer's installed battery usually doesn't work well. Once replaced with a new battery, I've never had a problem.
