UPDATE: 6-09. I wrote this review 5 years ago!!!! This phone has been around for at least 6 years and is "long in the tooth". If you are looking for a cheap, 2 line phone without many bells and whistles and you have no problems that the technology is "old hat" this is not a bad choice. This phone has worked without a hitch for the past 5 years and it is now being used as a kitchen wall phone. My main complaint is that the screen is dark, small and difficult to read. It has been replaced by a 2 line corded/cordless AT&T model AT&T TL76108 5.8GHz TWO-LINE Digital Corded/Cordless Answering System (Titanium and Metallic Charcoal). As for my original 5 year old review of this Panasonic phone, I am sticking with it!
REVIEW WRITTEN 1-04: So corded phones have now joined the ranks of junk "consumable" electronics along with hair driers and toaster ovens? In my search for a decent 2 line corded phone with caller ID, I purchased and with great disappointment returned 2 AT&T models (once the gold standard of all phones!)and finally, several months into the process, exhausted and desparate, settled on this Panasonic. Unlike the AT&Ts, all of the features work, but there is no mute, no reserve power supply (for shame!)and the LED screen is impossible to read from any angle except from directly above.
