My main criteria in a cordless phone are good sound quality and a battery that won't go dead. Other reviews of this phone were mixed, but a few reviewers said the sound quality was good. It may be that my particular phone is faulty, but the sound quality of both handsets was considerably worse than the average cordless phone I have used over the years. The signal to the base unit was weak and quite a bit of background hiss would come and go at random. But even this was not as bad as the very high level of feedback from the microphone back to the ear speaker when I talked . It was irritating enough that I am returning the phones even as inexpensive as they were.
