(More customer reviews)After two weeks, we can report being very satisfied with this phone. The overall quality and ease of use is up to the solid Panasonic standard -- at a very attractive price. The sound quality and range is excellent with almost no degradation at a long distance from the base. The speakerphone works well and, as we've never had one at home before, it's both novel and useful. The answering machine has all the right features and was easy to set up and use. Only small quibble: the ringer on the high setting is harsh; however, the low setting is quite bearable.

The Panasonic KX-TC1740B is includes a digital duplex speakerphone that helps reduce echo and dropout for more natural-sounding conversations. A digital answering system provides quiet, easy operation. The total recording time is 15 minutes (flash memory). The 900 MHz operation gives clear sound and enhanced range. Call-waiting caller ID lets you see the name and number of an incoming call, even while you're on another call. Caller ID pager call lets you program the unit to call your pager when you receive a message and to forward the caller ID data for display. A 50-station caller ID memory dialer keeps a record of who called and lets you dial them back quickly.
The Panasonic KX-TC1740B has a backlit 3-line LCD display on the handset and dual keypads with simultaneous keypad dialing so that you can dial from the handset, base, or both. The phone also has remote operation with voice prompts, a time/day stamp, a lighted handset keypad, 2-way paging/automatic intercom/handset locator, new message playback, 15-station speed dialing (up to 21 digits per phone number), 30-channel auto scanning, up to 21 days of standby battery life, up to 8 hours of talk time battery life, Ultra Charge 4-hour battery charging system, and call screening/toll saver. The phone is wall mountable and is attractively styled in black.
