(More customer reviews)OK, I'm an IT guy who has setup VoIP phone systems for companies, so this should be a piece of cake. NOT. Their instruction manual is well laid out, but the instructions are a bit confusing; I can see a novice pulling their hair out trying to understand what's going on. It also seems, though I have not yet figured it out, that you can transfer a call from one handset to another. It is not intuitive and does not work 'out of the box'.
The sound quality for the built-in speaker hone is quite good, really. The sound quality for the earpiece in the handset, well, s**ks. There is no headset jack, so you can't attatch his to your belt, belt loop, etc., and work in the kitchen while talking on the phone.
The display, confusingly read "New Message" any time a phone call comes in, message or not. What's up with that. It should either say "Missed Call" without the message light on the handset blinking if there is no message, or just "New Message" only if there actually is a message. Personally, If I want to see about missed calls I'll look, however, I want a visual cue ONLY if I have a message.
I have Vonage, and the phone continues to ring *after* my Vonage VM picks up.
All in all, I cannot recommend this phone. despite how clean and sexy the design (for an inexpensive phone) is.
Alos, it seems like the NiMH rechargeable batteries DON'T last nearly as long as advertised, 177 hours. They barely lasted three days (72 hours).
