This system was offered at my local Costco brand new for $199.95. The base is compatible with all three model 5500 series phones: KX-TGA550M, KX-TGA551M, or KX-TGA552M. To save a few bucks, I purchased an extra model KX-TGA550M (monochrome screen) as a fourth phone. You can have up to eight phones attached to the base unit. The clarity with the phones is wonderful on any floor of my 3 story house. The talking caller ID is also a feature I love, and the voice mail and memo features are so simple to use. Highly recommend this package.
