(More customer reviews)This is my 3rd set of GE cordless phones. I think the lifetime expectancy of this product is 2 years, more or less. One base unit made it to 11 months and died. I had the phone set in a condo in Mexico, and by the time I got the set back to the US, GE refused to repair the unit, because I was about 2 weeks beyond the 1 year warranty. GE would not even repair the unit at my cost. So, that is a caviat, but I think it applies to many of today's cordless phones. While the phones work, they work well and have a good range. Pay attention to the fact that the maximum number of add-on phones is 4--and that includes the 1 on the base unit. I tried to add a 4th phone, which GE counts as #5, and it will not "register" with the base unit. So, I have a $45 phone that is useless. Still, I rate this system as 5 stars, because the sound quality is excellent.
