You should order the DCX400 if all you need is an additional handset and charger.
With that warning, this unit works as advertised. We use the range extender on the 2nd floor of a house with thick plastered walls that eats up RF signals. The range extender provides 4 bars of signal strength on the upper floor. Our older Uniden 5.8GHz phones barely worked on the upper floor.
