(More customer reviews)I bought this set last week and plugged in for the first time yesterday. The instructions says to charge it for 7 hours though the batteries are already half charged.
The phone has a nice weight to it and fits well in the palm of my hands. The buttons are quite well spaced and are easily depressed. It comes with the base set for which you plug into your phone jack. In some new homes, only one jack is available due to the availability of cordless homes or the builder trying to stick you with after purchase services.
All sets are immediately "identified" [1] [2] and [3] on the display. The display themselves are clear and the menu system are thoughtful and easy to use.
Each extra base is about 4 by 3 inches small and have only the power cord that can easily be hidden on a desk. All the bases can also be "hung" on the wall if you can't spare the 12 square inches of desk space.
It has the ability to call another handset. They call this "intercom" but I disagree. Intercomming to me is the ability to push a button and talk right away.
Here's the problem that I'm torn with: The max volume on these things are pitiful! The headset volume is not loud enough and the speakerphone is terrible. It claims that its Digital (Full) Duplex [hear and talk without cutting each other out] but I'm guessing it's misleading and are only half-duplex. I've been a major supporter of Panasonic phones (I've had 5 of them) and the last one has been a champ for 4 years. Moving to the new house I thought to retire it and get one of these fancy multi sets. I'm quite disappointed in this decision.
I'm just going to have to go back to the old one and figure something else out for this single jack problem.
