(More customer reviews)I got this phone because I needed one with lit buttons for dialing in the dark. It's perfect for that. I'd read a review saying the light wasn't bright enough but it's fine for me and my eyes are awful. I also wanted a heavy phone like the old Bell phones that were indestructible because I drop the phone a lot. (My mom still has hers from 1964 and it's perfect.) This is close to that, but not as sturdy. Still, it's much heavier than most other phones I researched. The sound quality is what you expect from a corded land line. The phone is sold as a hearing impaired phone, and for that there should be more gradations in volume. The ringer is too loud in the loud position (after all, it is for hearing impaired) so if the volume of it bothers you, just put it on something soft to absorb the noise.
