(More customer reviews)I bought this handset for my a580IP gigaset system. I wanted this one because it has the headset jack. It's listed as compatible however, it is not. The latest firmware may have created issues with this phone. Basically, you cannot hear anyone through the ear piece, whether it be on a fixed line, through VOIP or even Gigaset.net. But if you turn on speakerphone, you can. What's weird is that if you call another local handset, you can hear through the ear piece.
I contacted support and they had me try some things as well as return the phone and get a new one. Nothing worked. They are now sending it to their engineers to test so there may be another firmware update fixing this issue in the next few weeks. I can't wait so I'm going for the S79H instead.
I gave this unit 3 stars instead of one because it's still a great phone and I'm sure they'll get the issue fixed.
