(More customer reviews)The sound quality on this phone is terrible. There is an almost constant low static sound in the background (despite many attempts to change the channel). There is also lot of echo and even at the highest volume, you can hardly hear the person on the other end of the line.
There are a few things I did like about the phone. First, it has a directory for storing up to 40 phone numbers, including the name. Second, you can choose from 1 of 4 ring tones or turn the ringer off. Lastly, if you mess up dialing a number you can backspace to fix it rather than re-dial the whole number.
This phone will be going back as soon as possible because if the sound quality isn't there, all the bells and whistles don't make a bit of difference.

Perfect for an alcove, end table, bookshelf, or countertop, the compact, upright VTech t2426 offers high-frequency 2.4 GHz analog transmission, which provides greater range and less chance of interference than you'd get with the standard 900 MHz band. Also enjoy an alphanumeric 99-name and number call waiting/caller ID display (caller ID requires paid service from your phone company) and a 50-name and number phonebook directory.
Any-key answer saves time in answering when you're in danger of missing a call, and the phone's visual message waiting indication (VMWI) alerts you to new messages (with paid voicemail service). Tired of hunting for the handset? A handy page/handset locator ensures that you'll never waste another minute tracking it down.
The phone's programmable ringer lets you customize its sound, while 30-channel operation further reduces the phone's chances of encountering transmission interference. The stylish t2426 can be used with standard 2.5 mm headsets, and it comes with its own battery, which charges in the base unit. VTech's special power-saving circuitry also extends usage between charges.
