(More customer reviews)A few years ago my old Panasonic cordless phone wore out the original batteries. That's when I discovered the not-very-low cost of (nickel cadmium) replacement batterie$ at a local specialty store.
I bought a new Panasonic cordless phone (this one with an extra handset)- Panasonic KX-TG5110M 5.8 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Answering System and Dual Handsets - a year or so ago, and recently noticed both handsets weren't holding a charge. I went online seeking a good deal on batteries to replace the dying OEM ones, and learned about these new NiMH batteries, so I bought two of them.
So far, so good. I'm glad to get name brand replacement batteries for a reasonable price, and hope the NiMH technology works as well for the phone batteries as it has in other batteries.
UPDATE on December 13, 2009: These batteries are still working more than two years later. I don't know how much more life they have left, and I won't find out because I've just replaced my assorted house phones with a new 4-handset Panasonic system - Panasonic KX TG6434PK - Cordless phone w/ call waiting caller ID & answering system - DECT 6.0 - black + 3 additional handset(s).
I think these batteries aren't holding a charge as long as they did when they were new, although their performance is still acceptable. Anyway, I've already had twice the useful life from them, than I had from the OEM batteries. And I'm not changing phones because of dissatisfaction with the performance of these batteries, that's for sure.
