(More customer reviews)I've had this phone set since July 2008. It's the same basic phone as has been well reviewed by others here, the only difference being it comes with a total of 5 handsets (including the base). It's been a dependable phone until recently, and I suspect that after nearly 2 years it needs a battery change-- which I find reasonable. The answering machine works well and if you add or delete a phone number to one handset, it's automatically updated on all the others, which is really nice. It has a page feature if you lose a handset (it happens). The phones are easy to program and easy to use.
However, it's not perfect. Recently I have had problems near my computer wireless system with folks on the other side of a conversation saying they can't hear me. Hopefully, the new battery will solve that, as it's only started happening in the last few months. My biggest complaint - which I noticed from the first time I used it -- is that despite the fact I hear well, the volume is sometimes too soft and there's no way to adequately jack it up. Other cons are that you aren't notified on the handset if you have a message on the answering machine (Uniden phones tend to give you an alert), and if there's a way to pick up messages from the handset instead of the base I haven't yet figured it out.
I've had a lot of cordless phones. Unidens have died on me too quickly. In general, this AT&T is a solid, dependable model that is a good buy considering the number of handsets you get. I recommend it.
