Pros:
-Great distance -- I stroll about 75 feet down the hall of my apartment building, and the phone still works very well, even though it has to go through several walls.
-Volume control is very nice.*
-Answering machine is simple and intuitive -- I never read directions, but put my response on the machine and have used it for nearly a year without a problem. Also, it has the option of turning it off.
-No big antenna to tear off.
-Caller ID -- it works well with a subscription!
Cons:
>>>This phone does not always ring when there is a call. That is, the phone registers there is a call, but it may not ring and I have had the answering machine go on (yes, without hearing a single ring beforehand).
*I am guessing the reviewer below is actually mistaken -- I am guessing the problem is with the phone of the person on the other end. I talk to people that talk very quietly and others who talk very loudly, and the volume control is sufficient to compensate for both.
>>>Overall, I would recommend checking out other phones before this one due to the problem with the phone ringing (since you need your phone to ring for it to be of great use). Other than that, if you are looking for large area coverage (within 100 meters of the base and not going through too many walls), this phone should suffice.
